Apparently, the CGE (Canadian General Electric) JK53 (1940 vintage radio) is almost the same as the RCA Victor A-20 Globe Trotter radio. Someone was kind
enough to go above and beyond the call of duty and send me some pictures of the innards of his A-20 concentrating on the dial string assembly. I want to
thank this fellow Amateur Radio Operator in Ontario. I had been really beating the bushes hard to get this information. I have joined the Canadian Vintage
Radio Society ($15 annually) and they sent me a pdf schematic but the dial stringing diagram was not all that helpful - so I kept on advertising on Radio Swap
nets and other Vintage Radio forums and finally I hit pay dirt with these photos on this page and as well a fellow sent me a pretty good diagram (also being put
on this page). I have googled the entire web and had no luck..so MAYBE THIS PAGE IAM BUIILDING NOW WILL HELP SOMEONE ELSE who needs to do this
chore!
THIS ARTICLE IS JUST
GETTING WRITTEN
..STAY TUNED FOR I
WILL BE ADDING
MORE SOON.

I have ordered some
dial cord from a small
Antique radio repair
shop in Kitchner On.
and he is sending me a
sketch of the dial cord
stringing with my order.

So more pics and info
to come.
With this particular radio.. the fellow told
me he actually used a bit more dial cord to
wrap around the spindle due to wear of
the spindle in that one area where the
dial cord is supposed to wrap around 2.5
turns.

HERE IS A LINK TO THE RCA A-20 MANUAL
WHICH MAY BE OF USE TO SOMEONE
WORKING ON THESE OLD SETS.
